Slate wrote a great essay on one of my favorite novelists, Kurt Vonnegut. I cannot count how many times Kurt Vonnegut’s books made my adolescent years tolerable. Reading him was total escapism for me. I loved his imagination, his sense of humor and his humanist activism and commentary. Try to find a copy of his short story, “The Big Space Fuck”. More relevant today than when it was written.
